Rather cold with winds blowing from the north, this was not an easy night. First place Aaron Fillion was 9 seconds off of his 2011 best and twelve seconds off of his database best of 18:17. In the women, Denise Ramsden posted a database best with her first place finish, but looking at her excellent 7th place finish in the Chrono Gatineau 17.35 km Time Trial, about 10 seconds behind Sue Schlatter, it's clear that she is now capable of doing time trials in the low 20's on this course. Note that of the 7 of us who have ridden all 5 of the OTT events this season, only one, Jeremie Lacasse, did their fastest ride thus far tonight. Jeremie, who forgot his shoes tonight and raced in his father's, holds the Minime Male record on this course, which he tied tonight, and we'll watch with interest to see how he advances in his new Cadet Male category. Celia McInnis did her worst ride of the season, even slower than Good Friday(!), but her excuse is that she forgot her cycling clothes, and didn't have a parent to help. Congratulations to Craig Burge for being the most improved relative to earlier 2011 OTT performances (He improved his cube speed by more than 40%!), and to Michael Seymour for improving upon his previous database best by almost 25% in terms of cube speed. Note that we rate performances in terms of the cube speed because power goes up approximately as the cube of the speed.
These results were posted on the OBC site circa 11:30 on 2011-May-27 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.
(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you
